How many Chinese exhibitors at this IAA TRANSPORTATION 2022 and what are the fields covered by these exhibitors?
Jan Heckmann:现在是6月底,距离展会还有几个月的时间。我认为这中国的参展商的数量还会增加,目前我们有大约60个来自中国的参展商,正如我之前所说,此前的展会我们有更多来自中国的参展商。由于新冠疫情流行的情况和封锁情况的影响,中国的参展商来到欧洲并展示他们的产品是相当困难的。今年,我们可以看到比亚迪、潍柴、宁德时代、福娃、东风、Sinus能源等中国参展商, IAA很高兴今年他们可以在汉诺威与我们相聚在一起。

Currently now we have the end of June there are some months to go until the show. So I think the number will increase currently we have around 60 exhibitors coming from china. Some of them are in joint pavilions as I said before in the past we had much more exhibitors coming from china. This depends on the pandemic situation and the lock downs etc. So it is quite hard for Chinese exhibitors coming over to Europe and to exhibit their companies and if you look on the field of activities what do we have? We have commercial vehicles, we have trucks and many many suppliers of course. Normally at the IAA the suppliers are the biggest group of exhibitors in general but it is also the same if we look at Chinese exhibitors. We also have some exhibitors working on autonomes driving and on digital solutions. So but of course the biggest field of activities and of course some working on busses but the biggest activities are light and heavy commercial vehicles and suppliers.

What products will MAN Truck& Bus bring to IAA TRASPORTATION 2022? What are the plans for future new energy products?
曼恩商用车:在2022年国际车展上,曼恩将展示自己作为一家正处于转型中的公司,如何重塑自己,并成为无排放运输解决方案和基于大数据的智能数字服务的供应商。电气化、数字化、自动化,这三个大趋势正在颠覆整个商用车行业的商业模式,曼恩的转型也与之相一致。我们没有犹豫,而是投资数十亿用于研究和开发替代驱动技术,以确保公司的未来。我们的重点是电动汽车。这将在IAA上可见一斑,例如,我们将首次在贸易展览会上展示我们的新型重型电动卡车eTGX。首批200辆纯电动车型计划于2024年初在慕尼黑生产,从2025年起,我们将每年生产2500辆。当然,我们还将展示与卡车相匹配的解决方案,即:用于长途运输的解决方案,用于配送运输的解决方案,以及用于建筑工地的高牵引力解决方案。
MAN Truck & Bus: At the IAA 2022, MAN will present itself as a company that is in the midst of transformation and is currently reinventing itself – as a provider of emission-free transport solutions and intelligent digital services based on Big Data. Electrification, digitalisation, automation – these are the three megatrends that are turning the business model of the entire commercial vehicle industry upside down and to which MAN's transformation is also aligned. We are not hesitating, but are investing billions in the research and development of alternative drive technologies to secure the future of the company. The focus here is on electromobility. This will be visible at the IAA – for example, we will be presenting our new heavy-duty electric truck, the eTGX, for the first time at a trade fair. Production of the first 200 or so near-series units of our all-electric heavy series is scheduled to start in Munich at the beginning of 2024, and we will produce 2,500 units per year from 2025. Of course, we will also show the highlights of the current and multiple award-winning truck portfolio, i.e.: transport solutions for long-haul transport, for distribution transport as well as high-traction solutions for construction sites.

What are the prospects for the future development of new energy trucks?

MAN Truck & Bus: At MAN Truck & Bus, we have a clear roadmap towards climate neutrality – driven by the goal of becoming a provider of emission-free, intelligent transport solutions. We are well on the way to achieving this. Even though we are developing H2 fuel cells as a possible option, electrically powered trucks, buses and vans clearly play the main role for us: battery-electric drives have a better energy and CO2 balance, as around 75% of the primary energy goes into the drive. With H2 it is only a quarter. For urban and regional transport, the electrification of trucks and buses is in full swing. Our electric city bus Lion's City E is already in great demand in Europe. For urban distribution transport, we have the eTGM truck in the programme. The next step is the electrification of heavy trucks. The batteries for the eTrucks and eBuses will come from our own battery factory in Nuremberg from 2025. We plan that by 2030 around 40% of long-haul trucks will be battery-electric. From 2040, all new commercial vehicles sold by MAN will be free of fossil fuels. Ten years later, MAN wants to be completely greenhouse gas neutral in terms of its balance sheet. The greatest global task facing mankind is to combat climate change. As a manufacturer of commercial vehicles, we are facing up to this great responsibility and aligning our entire product strategy with this goal.
