关于设计:
GF采用了一种特殊的,被称为“仿生学”的设计方法。该方法是起源于自然界物竞天择特性。结论是,自然界展示了对所有资源的有效使用。在设计阶段采用仿生设计方法就可以实现最低重量的可能性。

关于工艺:

Abstract of Speech:

Georg Fischer Automotive is a leading company in developing and producing safety parts in Iron, Aluminum and Magnesium.The secret of its success and innovative performance is based on simultaneous approach of design-, material- and process innovation. Thanks to this advanced development process in R&D, GF is able to create light weight safety components for all types of vehicles and also trucks.

Regarding Design:GF Automotive is using a special design approach which is called “bionic” design. The method is derived from master nature where you will not find any waste. In consequence, nature is showing efficient usage of any resource. Using bionic design approach leads to lowest possible weight in the design stage.Regarding Process:Having an optimized light weight design is still not enough, since the later production must be ensured. The process and the design need to fit. Therefore, GF Automotive also developed specific processes, which enables our computer light weight design to come to reality. Burr less free casting and aluminium foam are only two examples in a range of new processes.Regarding Material:Only high strength material offers the possibility of reduced wall thickness and in consequence reduced weight. GF automotive developed a range of new high strength materials which are introduced in detail. Reduced weight contributes heavily to the overall target of reduced emissions and low fuel consumption. In that sense GF offers “green” technology to the automotive customers.
